Our official why is to empower pet parents by giving them the knowledge and tools necessary to care for their animals, but it goes much deeper than that simple sentence.

Everyone on the team's Why is different but driven by the same motive, we all want to live by each other's happiness, we all want to be a part of something that works in the benefit of the human side in all of us, a technology that makes us more humane.

My why is personal, my guinea pig, a being that holds a big part of my heart, fell sick due to a bad diet. Even though I wanted and thought I was doing the best for them I had false knowledge that led to his teeth to continue growing and cause him pain and seeing him lose third of his weight was devastating. At the emergency section of the veterinarian hospital at 11pm at night, I saw even more emotional pain in owners walking out of the hospital with an empty cage. Most pets would not outlive us, and we all know that one day this pet will die but we do our best to give them a good, happy, healthy and long life.

I have been told "But it's only a guinea pig" by a number of my closest friends; even though I can't find that sentence justified my response is simple, something that Saskia Chiesa said in one of her videos: "There's something really beautiful in giving that [love and care] to an animal or another human being, it's something really pure. And to see that [gratitude] in an animal that small, it's very heartwarming" There's something about caring for an animal, large or small, that moves us to be better people, more tolerant, patient, kinder and content. I believe it's a god given instinct to care for a smaller weaker being, after all one could say that we, as fast evolving industrial human beings, destroyed and continue to destroy their natural habitats, so in a way we are responsible to give them the life they can't have.

My why is simple; I see the problem of a pet owners/parents such as myself who want to give their pets a good life but are not able to find enough/reliable information on how to do that. This is why I want to bring the whole guinea pig community together and provide a solution by connecting the experienced with not so experienced pet owners through technology. I have the skills to make that solution happen, maybe not the resources but by working together, I know for sure that this problem can be solved.

I am doing what I am doing, because I have the means and tools to make it happen, and more importantly, because it is my responsibility to do so.
